General Information

Geofirma® nonwoven geotextiles are manufactured through a process of extruding fibers, which are then laid down on a manufacturing “bed” and needle-punched to create a dimensionally stable product. Additional thermal treatment is applied to enhance the geotextile’s strength. These nonwoven geotextiles are ideal for various geotechnical applications, including drainage, filtration, protection, and separation.

Product Information

Geofirma® nonwoven geotextiles are manufactured from the extrusion of fibres which are then laid down on a manufacturing “bed” and then needle punched to entangle the fibres such that a dimensionally stable product is formed. Some additional thermal treatment is then applied to further improve the strength of the geotextile. Due to the manufacturing processes and that the geotextile product is highly needle, these non-woven geotextiles are generally best suited for a wide range of geotechnical applications involving drainage, filtration, protection and separation.

Benefits of Geofirma® Geotextile

The Geofirma® geotextile range is produced in ISO-accredited quality factories, ensuring the highest manufacturing standards for both local and international markets. The product is wrapped in a highly UV-stable outer wrap, allowing it to be stored outside for future use, as long as the wrapper remains intact. For proper storage instructions, please consult your Global Synthetics representative.

Geofirma® nonwoven geotextiles are readily available in warehouses across Australia. Global Synthetics offers polyester continuous filament nonwoven geotextiles from the Geofirma® product range, with various weights, strengths, and filtration characteristics to suit different engineering applications. Multiple roll widths and lengths are available to accommodate your specific needs.

Applications

Geotextiles play a vital role in renewable energy applications, contributing to environmental protection, sustainability, and improved operational efficiency. Geofirma® nonwoven geotextiles offer exceptional performance in transportation-related renewable projects.

To facilitate the selection of the most suitable Geofirma® geotextile for your specific application, Global Synthetics has developed a “Technical Guide on the Selection and Specification of Global Synthetics Geotextiles for Transportation Applications” which you can find here. This guide draws on extensive experience to recommend geotextiles that have proven effective in various environments, considering factors such as temperature, chemical exposure, soil types, potential damage, and ground conditions.

By utilising Geofirma® nonwoven geotextiles in transportation-related renewable projects, engineers can enhance drainage systems, improve filtration processes, provide protection, and ensure proper separation of materials. These geotextiles are a reliable and effective solution for creating sustainable transportation infrastructure, supporting the development of renewable energy resources.
