Use & Purpose
ACETex® Protect is a woven geotextile made from durable high tenacity polypropylene fibres. The product has
been designed with high tensile strength and at moderate strain levels. The product has been manufactured
with additional additives to create a durable cover fabric.
ACETex® Protect is a woven geotextile that has been designed for specific applications requiring a well stabilised
Typical applications are in landfills, where a geomembrane may require the additional assistance of a
sacrificial stable geotextile placed over the underlying geomembrane (primary containment layer) to assist
against UV membrane deterioration until such time as the landfill waste reaches a level such that full and
permanent cover is achieved.
Over 90% strength retention is achieved by ACETex Protect when tested in accordance with accelerated
weathering tests- ASTM D4355. Global Synthetics are willing to assist you in determining the suitability of
this product for your landfill project. Inter face shear testing has been carried out against both smooth and
textured geomembrane surfaces.
